Cats, Dogs, & Worms, Need Some Info.?

What kind of worms do kittens get? I know a lot of kittens have worms when they are little and need dewormed asap. I was wondering if they were tape worms, round worms, or what kind of worms? Can people get them? If so, how? This is kind of out there but can a worm fall out of their butts onto the floor? Should they not sleep in the bed with me if they have worms? Am I going to get worms?

yes you can get worms from your pet. i let my dogs sleep in my bed but they get dewormed regularly. no worms dont fall out of butts onto the floor. tape worms are real nasty creatures and it takes a lot for them to come out at all. round worms come out in poop and are about the size of earth worms so you will notice when they come out. pin worms are very contagious and if your animals have them they will be dragging butts on the ground to relieve itching. just call the vet and ask to have them put on a regular deworming schedule it is relatively inexpensive and worth it

Kittens generally get tapeworms, hookworms, and roundworms.
I used to work at a vet clinic–you can get worms from animals, but that’s only through very close contact-like kissing kitty on the lips, etc.
Dead worms fall out onto the floor, sometimes.
Just to be on the safe side, don’t let them on the bed until you have dewormed them! There are a couple of types of dewormer for different types of worms.
Tapeworms come out of the anus in tiny, flat segments that look like rice. Roundworms are spaghetti-like.
And remember to always keep kitty on flea medication or she is likely to get worms again!

she should have been dewormed before you got her, but if not you can take her to the vet for vaccinations, deworming, and to check for ear mites.
the worming medicine you buy at stores does not kill all kinds of worms a vet could take a stool sample to tell you if your kitten has worms and what kind (if she has bloody diharea she probably has worms)
suppose with tape worms a small segment fell out into your bed, you would have to eat it for you to get worms so really its safe…
but still she should be dewormed and vaccinated if not already done.
