I clean up poop twice a day and broadcast epsom salt periodically. I was told that would help. Is there anything else I can spray on the lawn to control the larvae?

try sprinkling lime around the yard, not only will it eleminate odors, but I have found it also works great for repelling fleas, ticks, scorpians, and numerous other crawling insects. Try giving your dog a very small amount of chewing tobacco (full leaf works best) once a week for 3 weeks and then once a month after that

Most Vet’s perscribe heartworm pills. They have ones that they take once a month, or once every 3 months. If it’s just regular worms, you can pick up a de-wormer at walmart or a petstore. (Prob. cheaper @ Walmart) Most of the over the counter de-wormers come with an eyedropper, and taste appealing to the dogs. I reccomend taking it to the Vet first to make sure it doesn’t also have heartworms. Also if the over the counter de-wormer doesn’t produce results-Vet.
They may have something you can put down in your yard in the pet section, or lawn section. Really not sure. Hope this helps.

First of all dont worrie about the eggs in the yard.. They will die on there own with out a host. If he or she keeps getting worms. Than he or she is either eating from a bowl with another and he or she keeps regetting. I breed Boxers and that the one thing I dont have time for is worms, So if you will take him or her to the vet they will give you a medication that will kill them for good or for a yr or so but its not cheap. My worm medication casted $50.00 for 2 little bottels. So its really up to you if your going to be a good pet owner or not.

have you taken them to a vet, probably best person to speak to
regarding reoccuring problems.

Are they eating the poop? Because my dog used to eat cat poo and get worms and the vet prescribed some sort of medication that would make the taste of the poo unflavorful to the dog. (haha-as if it wasn’t already disgusting, I’m sure)
The larvae isn’t supposed to be able to live outside of the body for over a hour or more…so I’m not sure how they could get worms by just walking over poo on the lawn. Never heard of that.

there is a lawn fertilizer that has a bug killer in it. But you need to spread it on lawn and let it sit a day or two. You would have to find another place for your dog to go do his business. Once its watered in it will be safe for your dog to go out again.
