I got a 2 year old Miniature Schnauzer 3 weeks ago named Molly. We took her in because her former owner couldn’t take care of her anymore.
We just found out that she has heavy heart worms and that she isn’t fixed. I was wondering if she could get spayed even though she has heavy heart worms?

I live in an apartment and don’t have a yard. Do they need to be any special type of worms?

I just started a compost pile.
There’s so many leaves and stuff and grass clippings around my house I put them all into a HUGE pile, I mean huge.
Anyways, I heard it was good to put worms in there. If so, what kind?
Any tips for a compost pile?

I believe my friend’s cats are infected with them, and I’m not quite sure what they are.
They are small; not even a half-inch long and they resemble maggots. We’re pretty sure that the cats have them, as they appear in their water dish and occasionally appear on the floor or wherever the cat is sitting.
They aren’t roundworm/hookworm/tapeworm, as far as I know, since I did a little searching around and they don’t look a thing like those types of worms.
Oh, and I would like to know if it is possible for me to transfer these worms to my cats, even though I just stayed the night at my friend’s house. I’ll wash my clothes and take a shower before handling my cats just in case, but is there a risk anyway?

Wormer dosage is based on the weight of the animal. If there are not instructions with it (which there should be…) then check woth your vet.

I bought a juvenile leopard gecko a couple weeks ago. I thought I was supposed to be feeding him 2-3 meal worms every other day, but found out I’m actually supposed to be feeding him every day. How many of these meal worms should I be feeding him daily? Some websites say feed as many as they will eat and others say feed around 4. I feel terrible about starving the little guy and want to get this right.

Last time i used the regular Ivermectin (sp?). Its time to deworm my mare again, so what should i use? I have Ivermectin Gold right now. Would that take care of the parasites that would be present at this time?

My friends dog has round worms. It pooed them all over my floor. should i now be freaking out about getting them? and will the same thing happen to me? i dont want to poop out a whole lot of worms… that makes me lose sleep. and should i immediately assume my dog has them and treat it with wormer without any signs of infection? will that hurt my dog? any help is appreciated.

My puppy has roundworms and I gave her dewormer. About 30 to 45 minutes later, she threw up twice. I’m worried about whether the medicine had time to take affect. Should I give her another dose or will this make her sick?
